Antique GUND, traditional 21`", working Musical SANTA CLAUS canvas doll, c1930s

Antique cloth SANTA CLAUS doll, vintage c1930, by GUND MFG. excellent old-fashioned doll as described on pages 82 &3, "Cloth Dolls"-Judd. This is a rare, traditional antique (circa 1930-40), wonderful 21 inch tall, stuffed canvas, 🎅 "SANTA Claus", doll by GUND Mfg. Co. with working music box, ♪ ♫ ♪ (shown in FIRST 4 photos only). He stands well on his own as his large, black cloth covered boots (part of his original cloth body) have wide, hard soles. He has a sturdy, stuffed cloth, body with chubby tummy, cloth arms having mitt-type hands with separate thumbs and his cloth head has the original, sewn on, wonderful mask face with charming molded and painted features including original, side-glancing blue eyes, wrinkles, thick white eyebrows, rosy cheeks and droll, smiling mouth covered by his original, sewn-on, thick white mustache and beard. His original brown wood music box with working winding key, is inserted inside his torso.He wears his original, dark red, two-piece suit with white "fur" trim and black belt and is in generally very good condition, no fading, few old stains, no repairs and no odors, from a smoke free home.
