Description: In terms of collecting vintage mountaineering equipment an early Hi-End Ice Axe from the Werkgen(ossenshaft) Fulpmes, (later Stubai group) could be (along the Bhend, Horeschowsky, and few other Swiss manufacturers) considered a pinnacle of quality and craftsmanship. From the golden age of highest peak conquering, 1920's-1950's, from Himalaya, Karakorum to the Dolomites and the Alps, an early model (1920's) of the Stubaital region provenance and it's most acclaimed place of manufacture - could be considered a true collectors gem, quite seldom seen, especially in this fine state, and even more rarely seen available to have and to hold. Not so fun fact = with similar but somewhat lesser quality Ice axe from the same period, and the very same manufacturer in 1940. Leon Trotsky was assassinated in Mexico ;/
