Description: For sale is an antique hand-colored litho picture/wall hanging of Jesus being taken down from the cross after the crucifixion. The writing on the bottom, "Die Abnahme vom kreuz" is written and translates from German to "The Decent Of The Cross". "La Descente De La Croix" translates from French to "The Decent Of The Cross" also. "O Despego Da Cruz" translates from Portuguese to "The Departure Of The Cross". The words on the very bottom are "Druck U. Verlag E.G. May in Frankfurt a M." "Druck U. Verlag" refer to Druck & Verlag- which is a publishing company in Germany. "E.G. May" was a litho printing company in Frankfurt, Germany. The outside of this wooden frame measures approx. 11 1/2" wide x 15 1/2" high and the inside picture portion measures approx. 9 1/2" x 13 1/2". There is an old chain on the back for hanging the picture. This item also has a wood backing that is held in place with nails. This item is antique and has age and wear to the entire item. The frame is worn, has many scrapes, nicks, and has missing paint. Also, the picture is a little warped and discolored. See photos for details. Thank you for looking!
