Description: Beautiful antique oak desk chair. This chair was made by The Ford & Johnson Co. of Chicago. The Ford & Johnson Co. was founded in Ohio in 1867 by John Sherlock Ford and Henry W. Johnson. In 1872 they moved to Chicago. They were known for high quality mission style furniture, mostly chairs and settees. After 40 years the company declared bankruptcy and was sold to the Midlind Chair and seating co. Lovely deigned and well-made chair with fantastic antique accents including spindles, cane seat and cast iron hardware. Can be adjusted up or down and tilts/reclines back. A very sturdy chair. Original wood wheels – sometimes you have to work a little to get them pointed in the right direction to roll it across a room. Please remember that antique items will show some wear and may have minor imperfections. There are a few small breaks to the cane, some paint scuffs here and there & some dings to the wood. Overall this is a beautiful piece. Approx: Overall 40” tall at lowest adjustment. Sitting area is 16” deep x 15 ¼” wide. Seat back height is 20”. Chair will be partially disassembled for shipping.
