Description: What an intricately sewn lace gown. The rare dress with its high neck and big bosom is a style made popular by the illustrations of Charles Dana Gibson, so prevalent that women who sported the clothing he drew became known as “Gibson Girls.” Beautifully constructed and designed. This came from a Jackson, California estate. It belonged to an elderly woman’s grandmother who lived during the Gold Rush, historical, Wild West days in Northern California and was stored in a cedar chest. Considering its age, this lovely piece of historical fashion is in good condition. Please zoom in to see details in each photo. There are a few small, scattered holes and one larger hole on the lower front. It is such a beautiful design and quality. Please see the photos. There are also some rust stains on the lower front and back sides. All fasteners are present. The dress is unlined and is meant to be worn with a slip and corset which are not included. Sold As-Is.
