Description: Description: FULL TITLE: The Road from Montauban to Toulouse Page 631 via Labastide-Saint-Pierre and either by Fronton or by Grisolles to Castelnau-d'Estretefonds, Saint Jory & Gagnac-sur-Garonne. The strip map shows the main road and crossroads leading to various towns & villages along the way. The engraving details the surrounding topography including churches, rivers, bridges, pastures, woods, forests and hills. The distances between towns & cities are shown in 'lieue'. 1 lieue varied between 3.898km and 4.678km. My feeling is that the 'lieue de postes' was used, which happens to be the average of the above 2 distances at 4.288km.
