Description: Fantastic antique Mason's ironstone large wash basin and jug, wonderfully hand decorated in a chinoiserie pattern depicting pagodas, willows, amongst a Chinese garden landscape. Makers black stamp underneath indicates date of manufacture around 1830-1845. A scarce example of Mason's pottery from the early part of the 19th Century that has surprisingly survived in remarkably good condition considering its age and size. Good antique condition with signs of age and wear, no chips, no cracks nor any repairs, small losses and scratches to decoration in various places, some staining, and general surface blemishes, please check detailed photos provided as they form part of item's description. The basin is approximately 41cm in diameter and 14cm tall, jug is 29.5cm tall, maximum diameter excluding handle is 23.5cm. Happy to answer any questions and provide additional photos. Thank you for looking.
