It is captioned " Paris Gb Coffiuer Blvd St Martin 69 T J Gress Euchlauben 427" underneath.It is one in a series of prints that gives a glimpse of French fashion design in the 1860s. It was used as a form of early advertisement, helping women stay updated on the latest styles. It features two women in an outdoor garden. Both are wearing long, voluminous layered dresses and bonnets. The seated one on the left is wearing a damask dress with black velvet cape with ruffles and lace. She is holding a handkerchief. The one standing on the right is wearing a taffeta dress with overlapping ruffles. She is holding a parasol. They are wearing vest basques, petticoats, and wire bustles. Imagine wearing all of this bulky clothing in today's age! This illustration was drawn by artist Adele Anais Toudouze and printed by Leroy - first appearing in "Le conseiller des dames, journal d'economie domestique et de travaux d'aiguille, Volume IX, May 1856". Both names appear in the print.It is enhanced by its beautiful wooden maple frame decorated with a little inner gold strip and embossed rolls. This frame measures 10" long x 6" wide.
