Description: Antique NAPOLEON Color Print, Brass Ormolu Frame, MUSEE DE VERSAILLES Click images to enlarge Description ANTIQUE MINIATURE PRINT Lovely antique framed color image measuring 5-3/4" tall, 6-1/2" including the crest, and 3-7/8" wide. Featuring an image printed on dome shaped celluloid, it depicts NAPOLEON IST ET LA REINE DE PRUSSE A TILSIT (Napoleon receiving the Queen of Prussia at Tilsit). Dressed in full military regalia with blue sash, this was acquired from the MUSEE DE VERSAILLES. Ormolu frame is beautiful with fine embossed around the border and a lovely wreath crest on the frame top - back is finished with rich velvet, complete with hanging ring and brass fold down clips to hold the image in place. Condition is good with minor age related wear - as you can see, image has tiny raised dots that are the result of how the glue was applied on the underside of the celluloid - this can be faintly seen when viewed head on, but is very noticeable when held in the light at an angle - still a beautiful image and a lovely display piece.
