Description: Antique 1890 North Dakota folk art oil on canvas painting of a rustic winter scene, signed by the artist. The back of the painting reads Snow Scene Mrs. Alda M. Hunter Park River 1890. The painting measures 23" x 16". This really is a wonderful primitive painting depicting rural life in a North Dakota winter 100+ years ago. I especially like the two people depicted, along with the large snow covered cabin, and the artist's use of color in depicting the twilight. It displays very well, but has a couple of minor issues. I see a couple of tiny white paint splatters at the top, and small wear spots in the upper center and in the trees by the cabin. It could also use a light cleaning. Enjoy!
