Description: Early XX century Antique Belgian RUPEL BOOM white 'Boule de Savon' opaline glass trinket box with gilded brass finishing Medium sized mounted on three lion paws urn shaped white "boule de savon" opaline glass trinket box with acorn finial on top and ormolu finishing. This stunning opaline box was made around 1940s by famous Rupel Boom glass manufacture in Belgium. Box is still wearing its original sticker label stating "Opaline Veritable de Valois Buckingham, Maitrise Verriere Rupel Boom". 'Boule de Savon' opaline glass is playing colors from cold white to fiery red when put in the light. Box's lid is decorated with bronze bow ornament. The increasing success of the Val-St-Lambert factory was encouraging, and orders for mould-blown beerglasses were enough to keep the small factory busy. The factory developed and then produced opaline and vases and stemware, light-shades, vanity sets, rosebowls and pots pourri, and a series of popular brands in glassware including complete ranges of fashionable design. Dimensions: The box is 18 cm (7") high and 9 cm (3.7") in diameter.The weight is 462 gr (16.3 oz). Condition: Perfect antique condition. No scratches, chips, cracks or repairs. Still wears original sticker label of manufacturer plus still has the advertisement business card of the manufacturer. 1 or 2 small airbubles can be found, as result of blowing process.
