Description: For sale is an antique French Our Lady of Suffrage metal rosary which has 4 decades instead of 5 decades.These 40 metal beads represent the 40 hours that passed between Christ's crucifixion and resurrection, often prayed on behalf of a deceased loved one and for the souls in purgatory.This rosary, when stretched out, measures approx. 11 1/2" long and the crucifix is 1 1/4" high, The words on the back of the crucifix translate from French to "Souvenir of Our Lady of Suffrage." The medal has "Our Lady of Suffrage pray for us" written in French and has the Sacred Heart of Jesus on the back. The medal is signed "Penin Lyon, is a approx. 9/16" wide. This item also has a carved "Mori" bead on it. One halfof the bead is the face of Christ and the other half is the skull.
