Description: Here, straight from our personal collection, we offer this great example of primitive American Folk Art: this Rare, handmade and painted bail handled bentwood pantry box,11 1/4" in diameterX 5" Tall, with a swing arm wire bail handle. The box and lid are made from the same 1/4" thick wood, cut and bent into circular box and lid, nailed to the bottom and lid. The box is wrapped with a 1"X1/4" wood strap, to. which the bail handle's hardware is attached.The curved wire bail has an unfinished turned and scribed handle. The exterior of the whole box and lid has its original two paint finish. the interior is unpainted, unfinished , see photos.The bottom is painted white, the box is in very good condition, conducive to its age.
