Description: This beautiful portrait miniature is mounted behind glass in an elegant solid 14K gold brooch that was stamped and confirmed to be 14K gold. It is antique, probably British. I have tried to show the hallmarks in the photos. There are three hallmarks on the back of the brooch, and one on the pin. Of the three on the brooch, the first is second of a letter, and the third of some figure. You can see the rope twist gold border around the whole brooch. Measurements are 1.5 inches wide by 1 7/8 inches. The young woman in the portrait is wearing a white dress and corsage, and sits in front of a curtain. A fantastic piece and excellent specimen of expert craftsmanship.
