Description: Circa 1840-1860 most likely Boston & Sandwich Glass Company pair of pressed hexagonal starch blue and clambroth candlesticks. Each candlestick exhibits a hexagonal socket with a lower stepped extension on a tapered hexagonal stem with a lower step above a three step base. Socket connected to the stem by a wafer construction. Candlesticks are 7 5/16" to the top of the sockets, about 3 1/2" base diameter with 2" sides. One candlestick is very good while the other has a few problems. The one has several open bubbles on one corner and a tiny open bubble on the second step, a small bruise on another corner, a small bruise on the underside of the lower step of the socket and a few white sanded areas and the wafer was probably too hot when applied resulting in it running a little. The other stick has a small open bubble on the edge of the second step and the same with the wafer. Both exhibit mold roughness to the inner surface of the base. Both have the usual bubbles, straw marks and base wear. Please look at all photos as they are part of the description. Buyer pays P/S/I.
