Description: Antique Civil War EraDoctors' Traveling Apothecary Cabinet This beautiful piece is mahogany with brass estuchions, handle and drawer pull. It is all intact, with the doors and bottom drawer opening properly. All the medicine bottle cubbies are intact in very nice condition. This was a portable apothecary chest for traveling doctors, especially battlefield doctoring. The finish is beautiful and original, all hardware is original. Both handles are in good working order, there are NO keys to the cabinet. It stands 18.5 inches tall, 10.75 inches wide, 5.25 inches deep. Each medicine cubby is approx. 2.25 inches deep, there is one large cubby that is approx. 4.5 inches wide, there are 14 smaller cubbies that are all approx. 2 to 2.25 inches wide. The bottom draw is beautifully dovetailed, and is 4.75 by 4.5 by 9.5 inches. Very nice original condition, surface finish has minor wear in places, back panel has vertical crack on left side not affecting structure of the piece, all hardware intact, no keys, all cubbies intact in very nice condition.
