Artists and Engravers: Engraved by Lefman after Lavrate. Ferdinand Lefman (active c. 1890) was a French printmaker (in wood engraving, etching and lithography and especially gillotage). Edmond Lavrate (Orleans 1829 - Paris 1888) was a lithographer active in advertising and caricature. Subject: Antique print, titled: Une partie de saut de mouton echevelee ('Disheveled sheep play hopscotch'). It shows men of the cloth playing hopscotch. One of the men was scared by a snarling dog, causing his fellow to fall. One of the priests stand laughing at that, as are two townspeople behind a fence.Condition: Good, given age.
