Description: This rare, antique book by James B. Connolly, titled "The Deep Sea's Toll", was published in 1905 and is a first edition. The book is a work of fiction and written in English and features eight short stories about commercial fishing. The stories are based on the author's experiences and are interesting so see how much and how little commercial fishing has changed. The book was published by Charles Scribners Sons in New York. The narrative takes the reader on a journey into the depths of the sea, exploring the toll that it takes on those who dare to venture there. This book is a must-have for any literature enthusiast or collector. The front and back hinges are broken but attached. The spine is worn at the top and bottom and on the back side. The corners are bumped and worn. The front and back covers show some water staining and there is light evidence of it on the inside though no damage seems to have been done. It is missing the frontispiece but has all the other seven illustrations. A previous owner's name is written in pencil as well as a price but aside from that there is no other writing in the book. The top of page 125 is torn off. There is a tiny Hutchinson's Book store sticker on the inside front over. I try to accurately describe the items I list. Will send more photos upon request. Thank you for looking!
