Description: This is a one-of-a-kind Antique Roman/French Hand Carved Oak Curule Savonarola folding Chair or Seat also used in the Renaissance designed after the ancient Roman Legate folding transportable camp chair. A few years ago, Italian archeologist found the remains of what they believed to have been the throne of Julius Caesar. I made these red and gold Roman style seat and back cushions with 16 tie ropes of gold and red rope and with 16 gold tassels. The chair comes with just the one bottom cushion on bottom but you can order a second one for $169 extra. Each cushion is trimmed in gold fringe going all the way around each cushion and each cushion is double sided with the opposite Roman design being used on each side as seen in the attached pictures. So it is also possible to have the she wolf and twins on top and bottom cushions. You could also chose to display the SPQR with wreath on top and bottom as well if you like. The chair itself is a very valuable 100 + year old antique oak chair but I have taken it up a few notches with my detailed Roman designs to simulate the best known attributes of ancient Rome . It is a one of a kind chair for this reason but even it's original style is rare design for this type of a Roman curule chair.
