Description: Antique Rose Cut Diamond 14 K Gold Double Interlaced Teardrop Pin Brooch In Box This is a beautiful antique pin. There are 2 sideways interlaced teardrop shaped bands in genuine 14 k Yellow gold. There is a center, extended prong set, unique rose cut genuine diamond. It is very nice clean stone with facets that come to a point in the center. The stone measures the same diameter as a 1/16 carat round cut stone. This was an estate find and it was in a box from Erhardt Parshoj from Copenhagen Denmark. The back of the pin is marked 585 and it was tested to be genuine 14 K gold. The stone was also tested and is a genuine diamond. This pin weighs a total of about 4.8 g. Based on the design and the cut of the stone it is believed that the pin was made no later than the 1920’s. The rose cut features a flat bottom with a dome-shaped crown, rising to a single apex. A rose cut diamond resembles the shape of a rose bud. The rose cut dates to the 1500s and remained common during the Georgian and Victorian eras.
