Description: Antique Royal Bayreuth Porcelain Pitcher Grazing Cows & Mountains Antique porcelain pitcher - would make a nice gift. Would serve well in any decorative display. Could also be used to serve milk, cream or water. With a vivid blue background towards the top and on the handle, it features cattle grazing on grass with taller reeds in the foreground. Background of mountain scenery in brown, purple and blue. Moving around the pitcher body, you will notice taller mountains in brown, blue and gray - with a mist in the foreground and green grass at the base. Artistically scalloped mouth and rim - and a sharply angular handle. Bottom stamp shows the Royal Bayreuth signature, crowned lions holding shields with P and T inside. "PRIV. 1734" inside a banner. This is the signification of Porzellanmanufaktur Tettau. This mark would date the piece 1902-1919. Made in Bavaria. There are NO chips or cracks. The only glaze crazing I find is on the handle. The hand painted scenery and animals are 100% intact - no wear, fading or scratches. Measures 5 & 3/4 inches tall. 5 & 1/2 inches wide, spout through handle. Weighs 8 ounces.
