Description: From John Stanley Antique Tools - This is the first one of these, all wooden sawyer saw sharpening vises we have ever seen or had. In spectacular condition, this has superb patina. As shown, most of the wooden parts have chamfered edges and ends. The vise jaws are mortised and tenoned to the uprights. With the saw blade tightened in the vise, this would have been used leaning against the work bench with the sawyers foot resting on the bottom cross piece. Measures 42 1/2" high. The jaws are 27 1/4" wide. The total thickness is about 2". If your antique logging tool collection does not have one of these do not be sorry you missed out on this one. Would make a fine addition to any collection. Sorry no combined shipping with this item. While here why not visit our ebay store where we have hundreds of items listed.
