Description: Lovely Matched Set Antique Set 6 Cups & 6 Saucers 'NANKIN' ROYAL DOULTON England Green Trim Octagon [12 pieces total]Fine China is hand paintedAll pieces marked on bottom with Old Mark, backstamp reads 'Made In England Doulton Burslem' with numbers and letters hand applied in tiny brushstrokes.* please check my store under Vintage Teacups/Saucers for the matching set of 6 identical cups and 6 bread and butter plates from the same estate sale * This gorgeous set is a soft cream color with glossy glaze, trimmed with a forest green band at rim.Pattern has marvelous CHINESE SCROLLS tied with ribbons and swirling, curling Nouveau- style shapes along with flowers and leaves.Very rich COBALT BLUE colors and deep oranges, golds, and greensCup Size Approx. 2 1/8" Tall x 3.5" across, great proportions. Saucer is 5.75" across and indented in center to fit cup. Excellent antique condition, no nicks chips cracks damage to any. Gentle surface crazing to glaze which is normal for age and is extremely minor- has not foxed or darkened and is totally unfeelable. Green rim style is from circa 1879-1902, when this design was discontinued.
