Description: You are looking at a stunning antique Victorian Mourning woven hair bracelet. The bracelet functions as it should. The woven hair that replicates the "chain" of the bracelet is made from a dark brown hair (it has been in the jewelers box for many years, so the hair does not lay flat when completely opened/stretched out). There are no markings on the gold color of the bracelet, but it is a made of a hard metal (maybe gold? maybe just gold plated?). I will just say it isn't gold. The metal is beautifully etched. There is small black onyx slivers (one has damage, but hard to see, please see photos) embellishing the metal as well as a small piece of bevelled glass covering more woven hair. There is a small gold colored chain (I would assume on there so one couldn't stretch the hair too much) running along one side of the woven hair chain. The hair is in nice condition, very tight, just a few stray hairs. The backside of the metal is engraved with the name "Sarah F. Shoenberger". The bracelet is about 6.25" long (from metal end piece to metal end piece). An incredible piece that comes with it's original jewelers box from the Uhrenhaus (clock house) Steiert. It is marked on the inside of the lid " Rudolf Steiert Uhren, Gold- & Silberwaren Baden-Baden Langestr. 30". A simply wonderful piece for the collector of Victorian Mourning Hair Jewelry. This will come as a package so that we both receive tracking. Thanks for looking!
