White spots in pics from light reflection on reflective surface. Beautiful antique, date mark 1892, Victorian porcelain Royal Worcester pitcher #1507 having a shell & coral design. I think the gored bottom of pitcher looks like a sponge or aquatic pod plant form. Love the shell spout held in place by the coral handle and branches, the whole form. A wonderful design exemplifying Victorian curiosity and admiration around natural history. Glossy finish white glaze. The mark on this pitcher is unusual. The crown mark is normal with 1 dot left of crown indicating 1892, green color is a bit unusual and the fly or bee - insect is rare. Can't find any reference about an insect in a RW mark. RdNo167140. There are 5 or 6 small rim chips, most on the inside edge but some of the rim peaks are chipped off, otherwise it is in beautiful condition with no other breakage, no other chips, cracks or repairs. See all pics. Pitcher is still useable and displays beautifully. Very modest age wear on seat. Inside clean & unstained. Appears to have been stored away for the last century & more. Measures approx. 8-1/2" tall x 6" at widest (outside of coral handle to outside of gored (ocean sponge shape) bottom). Holds approx. 5-1/2 cups /44oz. almost to rim.
