Description: Offered for sale is an antique and genuine Holophane prismatic sailor hat shaped light shade. This industrial light shade is made of clear glass and measures 15" across by 8" tall. The style of this light shade is antique and it is believed to be from the 1900s era. It is marked on the rim Holophane U S.A. Pat. Nos. 2099034 210119 2246320. I do know the history of this shade. It was salvaged from the Pittenger Grand Theater in Centralia Il. which was built in 1901. It was the largest most elegant Theater south of Springfield IL. With 1,200 seats, 800 Lights, Perfumed Air, and a crude form of air conditioning. This Shade is in all original condition except that I washed it. It comes with the original metal top and porcelain light socket. There are some tiny white paint dots which could be removed pretty easily. I apologize for the Postage, but this shade is big and very heavy!
