Antique Vintage Hickory Shaft Monel Metal Niblick 52* D 0 SW

Description: This item is a 36" right-handed hickory shafted wedge. It is a Niblick. 52* loft and a D 0 swingweight. Marked Monel Metal on the back. Also marked for the pro Charles Nieman of Buffalo, NY, the pro who retailed the club. Monel is a rustless alloy made by INCO (International Nickel) that was used in golf heads for a number of years in the 1920's. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected play nicks and dings. Please look at the many zoom pictures to get a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old apparently original hickory. It has a minor bend, I see no cracks and it has some play at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play. The grip is an old long leather wrap that is in good vintage condition.If you are considering playing with this club, while I see no issues with this hickory shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These hickory shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee hickory shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old hickory shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old hickory shafted wood with a hard range ball.Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box.
