Description: Here's a nice early buckle-back Billy Werber leather Hutch splitfinger baseball glove. Palm is stamped faintly "Billy Werber Model _ Oil Treated Genuine Cowhide". Thumb of glove is faintly stamped "Hutch built" as well. I have several other pre-war gloves I'll be listing, so be sure to check out my other items as well! Condition and dimensions shown in photos. Displays well and is guaranteed old/original. In the 1930's, Billy played for the New York Yankees (1930-1933), Boston Red Sox (1933-1936), Philadelphia Athletics (1937-1938), and the Cincinnati Reds (1939-1941). He led American League third basemen in putouts and assists once each, and also led National League third basemen in assists, double plays and fielding percentage once each. A strong baserunner, he led the AL in stolen bases three times and led the NL in runs in 1939 as the Reds won the pennant. He was born in Berwyn Heights, Maryland and batted and threw right-handed. I do my best to write accurate descriptions and mention any damage or other issues, but please use the photos to judge the overall condition for yourself.
