Antique Vintage Wood Shaft Tom Stewart Niblick 47* D 5 Player

Description: This item is an antique vintage right-handed 36" iron. It is a lined face niblick/wedge. Made by Tom Stewart of St Andrews Scotland. The head is clean and not all rusted. It does have the expected minor play nicks and dings along with some plating wear. Please look at the many zoom pictures for a better idea of condition. The shaft is an old hickory. The shaft is straight, I see no cracks and it is tight at the hosel. All hickory shafted clubs should be re-set prior to play and this one already has been. The grip is a newer long leather wrap that is set up for play. 47* loft and a D 5 swingweight. Looks like someone was already using it for play. If you are considering playing with this club all wooden shafted irons should be re-set prior to play. While I see no issues with the shaft (other than those mentioned above), I suggest that whipping be added just above the hosel to help prevent breakage. These wooden shafts often have hidden defects and are liable to break at any time. I do not guarantee wooden shafts against breakage when put into play. Never hit an old wooden shafted club off a driving range mat. Never hit an old wooden shafted wood with a hard range ball. Shipping in the US is calculated and based on a 3-pound box.
