Description: Antique Victorian Flow blue 1890 WARWICK CHINA BLUE this is a great pattern super wild rose floral pattern with trimmed splatter goldthis is a beauty and there is some crazing open lines as shown they do not go through at all bone china and great embossing as well as vertical lines with raised embossed this is a stunning deep flow blue and measures 12 inches wide The Flow Blue story is interesting in itself. It's unknown how it really began...a happy accident then intentionally? Sometimes called "Flown Blue". At any rate there was a period in early1800s-early 1900s beginning in Staffordshire England potteries where the blue was "flowed" during firing. By the Victorian era and late 1800s porcelain was a desirable item and Flow Blue became a trendy thing. Collectors even value cracked dishes.
