Description: An antique Porcelain button hook was paired with a vintage brass dollhouse oil lantern to make this elegant tamper. Looks a bit like swirling smoke, to me. It's often difficult to decide the exact history of a piece I am repurposing into a smoking tool, so it's a bit like solving a puzzle. This tamper is the perfect example. I have never come across a Porcelain handled button hook, so I put together the clues... World class fit and finish... Swooping, Art Nouveau design... Soft wear patina on the English metal bits...
