Description: AntiqueANGLO PERSIANAREA RUG Found in an old family barn! At some point in the rug's history someone had cut off the end probably to make it fit a normal sized room. We took the rug into a professional rug restorer who "glued" and taped the two pieces back together and put on fringe. He explained that the type of glue he was using would not cause damage to the rug and that at some point down the road it would probably need to be done again. (It is at that point now) COLORS ARE STILL VIBRANT AND TRUE. There are NO areas to the main body of the rug with holes, tears or stains. It has condition issues as most rugs over 100 years old do. Please have realistic expectations.The long edges along the sides show some fraying. One end has been cut twice and that is the afore mentioned repair. Since the repairs are on one end it can be placed in a room so that this is mostly concealed.Rug measures:Total length including fringe is 14.8 feet (178.5") by 8.75 (106") feet wideFringe measures approximately 3.25"The cut end that has been repaired is a total length of 20.5 inches and is cut from side to side. This is included in the total length of the rug.Whomever cut it - cut it twice - argh.The piece with fringe is 14.5" and the other piece is 6" We believe the rug was made by Whittall.
