Overall in very good condition for their age, probably 19th century. They have some cracks but they're stable and Overall they feel very sturdy. They have some light rust, marks, scratches, etc. Type of wear you'd expect from some antique hand Tools. Not sure what Hardwood species it is, most likely maple by the looks of them, but they do have some beautiful grain. Very nice dark, rich patina from handling and age. Excellent looking pair that we found together and we're guessing have always been together. Nice size and weight, measurements are in the pictures. 12" tall. A sweet find.
