Description: Authentic antique map of the Island of Jersey, Alderney, Garnsey, Isle of Man, by Philip Dumaresq Esq. Dated 1805 engraving. Sheet 550 x 435mm Reasonable condition for age, but some discolouration, folds, creases and the edge of the Jersey map is missing. However, this could be managed with a mount. Philip Dumaresq, was responsible for digging the 'canal' to drain the Samares salt marsh. This map was engraved by John Cary in 1805 for John Stockdale's "New British Atlas".
