Description: This figurative lamp was created by Ferrand probably Ernest Justin, a late 19th Century French sculptor. It is a patinated cast bronze of a graceful female figure. Her face is beautiful and detailed. It's a flowing Art Nouveau beauty with her gown creating a flared base. This lamp has been rewired. I don't know what the original fixture looked like, but believe the harp and socket were latter additions. I have a small collection of figurative lamps, some of which are spelter. This piece is different, offering a lovely patinated matte finish that must be bronze. A magnet does not stick. The small plate mounted at the bottom front reads "Parvots per Ferrand." The sculpture itself stands 15.5" tall with the socket and harp extending beyond that to a total height of 27". I'd date the brown cord around 1970. It turns on by pushing the nob on the socket.
