This map is in great condition for a 120 year old map. This is an antique. The most interesting part is Indian Territory, named Nations and Reservations include: Cherokee, Chickasaw, Choctow, Creek, Modoc, Ottawa, Peoria, Quapaw, Seminole, Seneca, Shawnee, Wyandotte, Kansas, Kiowa,, Comanche, Apache, Osage, Otoe, Missouri, and Ponca. Map measures, entire page, 14" x 11". Fascinating, as well, the tiny towns in west Texas as the railroad (Southern Pacific) moves west, including Marfa, Alpine, etc. Also noted: "Astronomical Point" near Presidio, in Presidio County. HOUSTON in all caps. Dallas and Fort worth noted. Spring, Westfield, and Humble all noted. Westheimer and Gum Island noted West of Houston. Point Blank and Coldspring noted Northeast of Houston. Mountains in West Texas shown include:Guadaloupe, Black Mountains, Huesca Mountains, and Castle Mountains. Rand McNally was the cartographer for many different atlases, this being one of many.
