However, when the laptop is stored vertically for an extended period, there may be temporary visual splotches on the display, near the bottom edge of how it is stored. These will go away after a few hours of storing/using the laptop horizontally. These visual splotches do not block any part of the display image, and are just localized variations in LCD brightness due to aged components. It did not affect my utility of the laptop, and you can also consider using an external monitor (not included).
