Description: Apple Macbook Pro Mid 2019 Touchbar 13" A1989 I5 2.4GHz 16GBb 256GB SSD Silver I bought this MacBook Pro used about a year ago. I thought about trying to upgrade the hard drive,which was a bit harder than I thought. I gave up on that idea. In the process, I reformatted the hard drive, thinking that it would be a simple matter of reinstalling the Mac OS from a memory stick (I had done that before with previous MacBooks). With these newer MacBook, it is not a simple matter of just slapping the new OS onto a reformatted drive. My previous email was embedded n the chip and I had to do recovery boot via Wi-Fi. The process kept getting interrupted. It failed MULTIPLE times, but eventually was able to complete. In retrospect, i think i corrupted the firmware because the computer acted “weird” since then with random crashes. I tried everything i could think of, including reinstalling the OS, but this kept happening. I was convinced there was a hardware problem. After a bit more research, I came up with a hint that the firmware MAY be corrupted and I can get around by using another MacBook to refresh the firmware. Well, since doing that, the computer SEEMS to be running fine. I have had it on for 48 hours without a crash. I have since purchased a different MacBook. I am selling this one AS IS. It is reset to the startup page and should be ready to install a new Apple ID. The reason i went through all the long winded stuff earlier is I cannot totally guarantee that the random crashes won’t start back up after another month or two. So this is AS IS. The exterior is in great shape with no scratches. The screen is in great shape. All the buttons work. The charger is included. I understand that there is some urgency with shipping this item with Christmas. HOWEVER, the USPS will only allow shipping by ground service for used electronics because of the lithium battery. I will not take on the liability of ignoring the rules by not making the appropriate declarations.
