Description: This auction is for a working Apple Macintosh Quadra 800, a computer introduced in 1993. This is one of the fastest 68K Macs. It features: - 33MHz Motorola 68040 processor (with FPU)- 16MB RAM (8MB on logic board + 8MB SIMM)- 512KB VRAM (on logic board)- ADB, Serial, SCSI, AAUI Ethernet, Sound in/out- 3 NuBus slots- 1 040 PDS slot It does NOT include a hard drive, but it has both internal and external SCSI ports to which a SCSI hard drive or BlueSCSI can be connected. The floppy drive spins and recognizes disks, but does not mount them — it probably needs to be lubricated and/or adjusted. The logic board is in very clean condition. There is no battery damage (but the battery has been removed anyway), and there are no electrolytic capacitors that need replacing. The bottom metal shield has some rust, but it does not appear to be correlated with any board corrosion/damage. The case is cosmetically very clean, although it's missing both blank bezels from the front case, and two of the three NuBus slot covers from the rear case. It was tested with a BlueSCSI (not included) — it successfully chimes and boots into Mac OS 8, as you can see from the screenshots. No other testing was done (slots, other ports, et cetera). Sold as-is due to age.
