What are the differences? - The Apple TV Remote has an engraved data matrix on the bottom with the serial number. - The serial number engraved is invalid according to Apple.com - There is a piece of manufacturing factory tape over the IR sensor on the top - According to the serial number, this Prototype was manufactured on Week 11 of 2017, almost 6 months before the official release of the Apple TV 4K. - The Prototype is of the EVT prototype stage Please note, this prototype Apple TV Remote has a very large dent on the back (check the photos) and does not seem to do anything when plugged in. Also, the Siri button feels pressed in and the play/pause button only clicks slightly. I don’t know if this is due to the tape, the dent or both. Therefore, it is being sold exactly as it is with no returns or refunds. It is not being sold as a usable Apple TV remote, but a piece of rare collectable technology!
