Description: Newton D. Baker signed document appointing Harold Storrs Hetrick, Colonel in the Corps of Engineers on May 9, 1918. Harold Storrs Hetrick (10/15/1880- 1/3/1920) was born in Kansas City, MO. He served a distinguished military career and would later move to New Orleans. On January 1, 1920, an intruder broke into his home and Storrs was seriously wounded. It was later discovered that it was a case of mistaken identity. He died on January 3, 1920 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. He was a 1906 West Point graduate, graduating first in his class.
