Description: This uncirculated 50,000 Armenian dram note, issued in 2001, commemorates the 1,700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as one of the state religions in Armenia. Its obverse side shows the mother church of the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Etchmiadzin Cathedral in Vagharshapat. The front also has a Kinegram holographic stripe of the church in the hands of St. Gregory the Illuminator and King Tiridat the Great, an embossed seal of Christianity in Armenia, and the cross. The reverse side of the note depicts the image of Saint Gregory the Illuminator and King Tiridat the Great holding up the church, and the cross carved in a stone monolith from the Kecharis Monastery in Tsakhkadzor. Other security features of the note are a windowed security thread with demetalized 50000, an ornate cross watermark, and electrotype watermarks of crosses.
