I purchased this from an fairly older woman who said this was her fathers lantern. She said he found some of them in barns and places like that and restored them with their original parts, and then restored them to look in more original condition. He traveled to find some of the parts. This lantern from the chimney to the lowest wire guard are in very good plus condition. The globe is not cracked or broken. The metal looks great. The knob on the slip burner turns. If you're asking me if this works, I do not know but I would guess it does. Brand is Armspear. This is embossed SOO LINE RY on the lid and the globe (photo 5) also has SOO LINE etched on it and 1925 embossed on it. The top of the chimney has 1925 on it as well as the gold colored slip burner inside. The knob on the slip burner is embossed Armstead. Photo 11. The engraved stamp on the bottom says Patent FEB 2 26. Excluding the handle sticking up, this stands just over 9" in height from the top of the chimney to the lowest guard legs.
