This configuration is commonly found in Ford Mustang models from 1979 to 1995 that have undergone engine modifications to pair 351W heads with 289-302 blocks. Compatibility: Vehicles: 1979–1995 Ford Mustang models with 289-302 engines fitted with 351W heads. Cylinder Heads: Compatible with Ford Racing M-6049-J302, SVO high port M-6049-L302, Edelbrock aluminum, and GT-40 style heads that utilize a 1/2" to 7/16" reducer "T" washer. Important Fitment Information: Thread Specifications: The kit features 7/16-14 threads for the cylinder block. Reducer Washers: Includes reducer "T" washers to accommodate heads with 1/2" bolt holes, allowing proper fitment to blocks with 7/16" threads. AFR Heads Consideration: For AFR 165 heads, which have 7/16" bolt holes, the "T" washers in this kit may not fit without modification. AFR 185 heads or larger, with 1/2" bolt holes, are compatible.
