Description: Four remarkable panels of life in an Asian setting. While we're not too familiar with that culture, we recognize beauty when we see it. The serene scene unfolds before you, as your eyes travel across the four panels showing exquisite portrayals of Asian women, possibly geishas. They all seem to be enjoying a leisurely day in the lovely landscape that surrounds them. One seated geisha appears to be playing an instrument, while the others watch. Another is having a cup of tea, while they all appear to be listening to the music. It's an idyllic, peaceful slice of life, from long ago. It appears they are similarly nicely dressed, wearing richly colored robes or kimonos, with flowing scarves draped around them. The lovely women are also amidst traditional appearing buildings that add to the authentic interest of this extraordinary wall art. The highly detailed panels make a wonderful display which draws your attention. Anyone who appreciates vintage Asian artwork will admire the fine craftsmanship that has gone into their construction. The panels appear to be painted in black, and either gold leaf or gold lacquer, although we are not experts in finishes. As with many vintage pieces, this one does have flaws, but the actual gold colored scenes with the women seem to be in excellent condition for their age. In our pictures we have tried to highlight the most significant issues in the panels, but our pictures don't show all the issues with the panels. Please ask questions before buying. The panels weigh about 6-1/2 pounds each. The dimensions of the individual panels are roughly 37" ( without the handles ) x 12" x 7/8". The handles are about 2" high. Please notice the extended handling time of 30 days. We don't expect it to take that long, but we will be ordering, and waiting for delivery of, new shipping boxes, and we wish to have some slack in our commitment to you. We anticipate packing 2 panels to a shipping box, although that could change. We accept returns if the listing description does not match the item sold.
