Whittier’s verse is supplemented by several full-page illustrations by E.H. Garrett. Holmes on his 80th Birthday, James Russell Lowell, Haverhill, Milton, on Memorial Window, The Birthday Wreath, The Wind of March, Between the Gates, and The Last Eve of Summer. John Greenleaf Whittier wrote of religion, nature, and rural life, and was one of the most popular of the “Fireside” poets. This 70-page book, without dustjacket, was published in 1892 by Houghton Mifflin. Condition: The book is in good condition, with clean pages, tight binding, and cover corners and spine edges that show light wear. The coverboards have mild scuffing.
