Description: Up for sell is an Atari 1050 disk drive with RAM Doubler (doubles the available RAM). This is for the Atari 1050 disk drive and power supply. No other cables. No monitor. The drive head has been cleaned. I've included non-original copies of DOS 4.1 and SpartaDOS 3.2g. Please read the "Condition description". Note: I was able to format a disk and duplicate a disk with this drive. I was able to boot to the 4.1 DOS screen. Special Note: SpartaDOS, also developed by ICD, Inc., is the recommended DOS to use with the RAM Doubler since it opens up the UltraSpeed operation. (Without SpartaDOS, your Doubler enhanced 1050 will run at normal speed.) This high speed data transfer is accomplished by increasing the SIO baud rate from 19.2K to 54K. The UltraSpeed sector skew then allows 3 times as many sector reads for each revolution of the disk resulting in rapid I/O which sounds like machine gun fire. I don't know how to use SpartaDOS so I was unable to test the double RAM. Because of the RAM Doubler, the 1050 diagnostic disk won't work properly on this drive. This will be shipped UPS Ground insured. This is being sold as is for parts with no refunds due to some dishonest people will swap out parts and then say the drive didn't work.
