Description: A beautiful collectible 4 stamp block set of U.S. postage stamps issued on July 28th, 1955 to promote the "Atoms for Peace" policy as the Cold War began to escalate. The policy promoted the peaceful use of atomic energy instead of nuclear weapons. The stamps were designed by George R. Cox and depict atoms flying around the hemispheres. These stamps have never been used and are as fresh as the day they were sold at the Post Office almost 70 years ago. Suitable for framing, they would make a great gift! Look in my other auctions for stamp blocks of stamps of historical significance blocks! All stamps are Mint Never Hinged. Shipping is $1.00 for first class mail. Additional stamp block auctions won, paid for in one COMBINED transaction and shipped at the same time are only 25 cents extra per auction (sheets and booklets not included), with a maximum shipping charge of $5.00, no matter how many auctions you win. Please pay for all of your auctions in one payment. All payments are to be in US currency only. I send stamps out when I receive your payment or the day after if the mail has already gone out. Thanks for looking at my auction. If you have any questions, please email me before bidding.
