Attractive studio glass cat figure: red, hand formed, probably Alex Roskvist NZ

Description: This is a lovely cat-shaped art glass figurine or ornament in an orange-red or vermillion tone. I would describe it as a sitting cat figurine in clear glass, with an inner core covered in splashes of bright orange-red or vermillion glass. This core is then cased in clear glass. The head and neck of the cat figure are clear glass, and the orange-red core is reflected in the eyes and points of the ears. The figure is about 87 mm high. The base has been cut and polished flat, but is unsigned and unmarked. This lovely paperweight is in excellent condition, with no chips or scratches. It is made in a manner which is very similar to those made by Alex Roskvist, who is currently based in Hokitika, located in the South Island of New Zealand.
