Hortense (Antoinette-Cécile-Hortense) Haudebourt-Lescot was born in 1784 in Paris and died in that city in 1845. From 1820 she was the wife of the architect L. P. Haudebourt. She studied with Elisabeth Vigée-Lebrun and was a pupil of G. G. Lethiére in Rome. She was also elected a member of the Roman Academia di San Luca. She debuted at Salon de Paris in 1810 (as Mlle Lescot) and was its regular exponent well into the 1820s and 1830s. She was a court artist of Duchess du Berry and specialized in genre scenes and portraits. Works of her are shown in different French museums (a.o. Louvre).
